Aalborg, Copenhagen, Denmark · Accredited programme
Power-to-X Systems, Specialisation of Sustainable Energy Engineering is a master's degree programme lasting 2 Years, taught in English at Aalborg University (AAU) in Aalborg, Copenhagen.
The specialisation in Power-to-X systems gives you an understanding of carbon capture technology, electrolysis systems and green fuel production. When you study the specialisation in Power-to-X systems (PtX), you will learn to design and model the production process for green fuels such as hydrogen, e-methanol and others. You will work with sustainable energy technologies such as carbon capture utilisation and storage (CCUS), electrolysis and methanation. The courses cover topics such as fluid mechanics, CFD, chemical reactors and process simulation. The programme will give you the ability to design equipment and construct systems for the production of green fuels, and to work with technologies that drive the green transition. You will explore questions such as: How should a fuel station for hydrogen/green fuels be designed? How do you scale up laboratory concepts to produce methanol by combining CO₂ and H₂? How do you transport and store CO₂ and H₂ in large-scale operations? How can Power-to-X systems be optimised and operational problems minimised? Job and career Acquired competences As a graduate of the specialisation in Power-to-X systems, you have a wide range of career opportunities. You can work in project engineering, research, development and management in Danish and international companies or public institutions. Problem-based learning and working in groups during your study programme will give you many useful skills that make you an attractive candidate on the job market. You will know how to approach a problem and solve it in collaboration with other people, and this is often how things are done in the "real world".
