Description The two-year MSc programme in Chemistry combines formal coursework with independent research guided by an experienced researcher. An MSc degree in Chemistry equips you with the necessary skills for participating in research groups or for the independent leadership and management of complex work and development situations within the field. As a graduate student in chemistry, you can choose to tailor your degree from the full range of courses at the University of Copenhagen.  Not least a comprehensive range of chemistry including inorganic, physical and computational chemistry. Teaching varies between lectures, laboratory exercises and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions. You can chose between two specialisations: Organic Synthesis and Green and Sustainable Chemistry. Within both specialisations graduates acquire skills to: Process and analyse data Read and understand literature in the field of chemistry Utilize chemistry databases Account for work orally and in writing Chemistry master's graduates with an organic synthesis profile will be able to: Perform advanced organic preparative work, including work with reactive, toxic and air-sensitive reagents Organize, describe, execute and optimize multistep syntheses on large and small scales Make use of synthetic chemistry literature, databases, reference works in conjunction with the knowledge of chemical reactions' detailed processes to develop and improve preparative methods Chemistry master's graduates with a green and sustainable profile will be able to: Describe the chemistry and physics at boundary surfaces Describe and optimize the sustainability of a chemical proces Read about the structure of the programme Career Opportunities Chemists are in demand all over the world. In research and analytical laboratories in the private as well as the public sector. They work as advisors in both private firms and public institutions, teach at university level or work for media. Or they use the insights from studying chemistry to start their own business. Admission If you wish to enroll yourself in this MSc programme, you should have a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or equivalent, for instance Nanotechnology or Biochemistry,  by a recognized university or institution of higher education.
