Become a key player in the development of a sustainable society This study programme is relevant for you if you already have a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology and you want to enhance your skills. With a MSc in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology you can work in the production of phytopharmacology, food products, medicines, clean energy, process development or biorefineries. You will also be qualified for consultancy work and project management in chemical, environmental and biotechnological industries. You will learn to design, revamp, and optimise chemical and biotechnical processing plants and products – based on technical, resource and environmental considerations. You will be qualified to run laboratory work as well as to develop and validate analytical measuring methods. Project based and research based study environment You become part of a project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups. You and your fellow students are responsible for planning and carrying out the project – and for meeting the deadlines. Usually, we receive the project outlines from companies and we emphasise that the problems you solve are ‘real-world’ applications. The final semester is devoted to the master thesis, which will typically be carried out at or in cooperation with an industrial company. The degree qualifies you for work in production, development and environmental control in, for example, the medical and food industry.
