Graphic Storytelling will equip you with a versatile toolbox relevant to comics and graphic novels, illustration, storyboarding, preproduction for animation and games, and more. Craft fundamentals and short-form storytelling In the first semester, you will be taught the fundamentals of creating narrative images, from mastering digital and traditional tools to design, drawing from life and perspective.  Then, in the second semester, you will learn how to tell stories with sequential drawings, focusing on clarity and expression. You will write and draw short narratives, culminating in a collaborative comic book project. Illustration, world building, and long-form storytelling During the 3rd semester, you will immerse yourself in colour: Harmonious palettes, rendering and mood. Then, you will apply your new skills to illustration for books, magazines, and newspapers.  The 4th semester opens with a series of workshops on world building and design, after which you will explore long-form storytelling, culminating in a graphic novel pitch featuring 10 sample pages and a comprehensive synopsis. Preproduction and applied comics In the 5th  semester, you will learn how to apply all that you now know about visual storytelling to preproduction for animation, games, and film. Also, you will dive deeper into potential future career paths.  The 6th  semester is about communication, culminating in an applied comics project, where you work with outside clients to convey messages to specific target audiences through comics or illustration. Finally, you will develop your portfolio for internship applications. Final production, internship and bachelor assignment Your 7th  semester will be dedicated to the final production, an original comic, picture book or “art of”-book.  Then, in the 8th semester, you get hands-on experience from the industry in a relevant internship for at least ten weeks.
